Celtics sign Arroyo
In an attempt to bring down the minutes of Rajon Rondo, the Celtics have aquired PG Carlos Arroyo. As the ankle sprain of Delonte West keeps him on the sidelines, the need for a capable PG became more evident.
Rondo's play has been nothing short of spectacular these last few weeks but with only rookie Avery Bradley available on the bench the Celtics needed to make this move.
Arroyo, a ninth-year point guard averaged 5.6 points and two assists per game in 49 appearances with the Heat, starting 42 games before his departure.
This committee of Rondo, Arroyo and Bradley should keep Rondo's minutes to around thirty five per game and keep his young legs fresh for the playoffs.

An Open Letter to King's Fans
King's Fans:
STAY AWAY FROM TONIGHT'S GAME!
Showing support for the Maloof's at tonight's game is like rewarding your child for all F's for six consecutive years.
This is what I hear when I see support (1 day before the deadline for the Maloof's to announce they are relocating), "we have allowed the Maloof's to shit on us for the last six years, trading away our favorite players, not making the vital move when the playoffs were within reach and not negotiating in good faith. Even the NBA was putting millions in on a deal to keep the Kings in Sacramento with a new arena". You didn't stand up to the ownership then, but as they leave you sell out the stadium... for what?
You probably think the extension is for them to get closer on making a deal for a new arena, or to secure financing to do the deal privately? Nope, just go ask Mayor Kevin Johnson. The one person who needs to keep the NBA in Sacramento can't even get the Maloof's ear a week before they are to make their decision.
Wake up Sacramento. The only reason they are asking for an extension is because if they announce they are leaving March 1, who will show up to buy an $8 beer and $20 parking? So, they ask the NBA for an extension so 10K people will still show up for the next 45 days, then they can say goodbye without all the bloodshed. Screw them, don't show up, and let them sit by themselves to see what they did to a once great fan base.
What is going on in people's heads when they buy a $90 lower bowl seat tonight? Hey, maybe the Maloof's will get filled with emotion and have a change of heart. That is like having a talk with your child about drugs after they have an addiction.
All we need in Sacramento is to be relevant, which is where the ownership went wrong. When the King's were relevant, is was the loudest arena on the west coast and all the bars within 30 miles were busy with fans. Try going to a sports bar in Sac tonight and watch the game. You might have to ask them to turn it on.
Those glory days will return. Sacramento needs to boycott these loser owners tonight and start looking for a new dance partner.

New England Patriots Win Super Bowl XLV
After what amounts to what seems like playoff type games the past two weeks, the Patriots win another big AFC game against the all powerful Colts. Coming off a huge victory in Pittsburgh the week prior, one would think these games were being played in January. Instead, the NFL has decided that if the Patriots are to win Super Bowl XLV, they will do it by beating the brass of the NFL not once but twice before reaching football's ultimate game.
Jets twice (maybe a third time in the playoffs), Pitt and Indy (most likely to see them again in the playoffs for a second time), Baltimore, Green Bay, Chicago, Vikings and Chargers. After a schedule like that, the battle tested Patriots may have the hardest schedule heading into the Super Bowl of any team in the NFL.

Bears v. Dolphins Keys to the Game
While Gameday preps for a big night in Miami for the Thursday night game between the Dolphins and Bears, there are some interesting questions to be answered.
With key injuries to the QB position for the Fins one would think you should favor the Bears, as Lee Corso would say "not so fast my friend". Tyler Thigpen, Miami's third string QB has the tools to pull out this key Thursday night game. The keys however are not on Tyler, they are on Dan Henning Miami's offensive coordinator. He needs to use a gameplan of three-step drops, play-action passes and lots of wildcat with Ronnie Brown in order to secure a home victory.
The key here is not to let Tyler hurt you, as well as not to let the Bears tee off on your new quarterback and have him make poor decisions. If the Dolphins can keep the Bears guessing and Thigpen can manage the game, the Dolphins can get another much needed W if they want to stay in the hunt of the wildcard spot.
As far as the Bears, they need to take advantage of Channing Crowder. What a bum! If the Bears can isolate him on Forte out of the backfield with screen passes, this could be the most effective way to beat a home team on short rest.
While we will enjoy watching this game live from SunLife Stadium tonight, you can enjoy it as well by taking Miami -1.5 tonight.
